Switzerland's Michael Albasini, riding for the GreenEdge team, won the Tour of Catalonia on Sunday.
Albasini, winner of the first two stages, finished 1min 30sec ahead of Spain's Euskaltel rider Samuel Sanchez, with Belgium's Jurgen Van den Broeck, of Lotto-Belisol, in third place at 1min 32sec.

Sunday's seventh and final stage, a 119.8km ride between Badalona and Barcelona, was won by Frenchman Julien Simon of the Saur-Sojasun team.

The 31-year-old Albasini, who won a stage on the 2011 Tour of Spain, triumphed in a dramatic week-long Tour of Catalonia that saw the third stage shortened because of snow and an accident on Saturday's sixth stage.

Stage six was delayed for 38 minutes after a police motorcycle outrider in charge of clearing the route collided with a car at the 70km mark.

Simon, 26, had also won the fifth stage of the race between Asco et Manresa.
