Carlos Sastre won Monday's grueling 16th stage of the Tour of Italy with Russian Denis Menchov retaining the leader's pink jersey. After the 237km Appenines trek from Pergola to Monte Petrano, the Cervélo Test Team rider came in 25-seconds up on Rabobank's Menchov who out sprinted Italian duo Danilo Di Luca and Ivan Basso.
