LATEST NEWS: TOUR OF CALIFORNIA, BEVERLY HILLS PHOTO ALBUM
May 20, 2012

Sure, plenty of people mock Beverly Hills as the land of plastic people, but nothing could be further from the truth.

The Tra de Noi Ristorante proved to be the most Euro like hangout for the riders. After the race, it was undoubtedly straight to the pool at the downtown Marriot.

All of cycling's ho-poloi came out for the Beverly Hills start including two Americana cycling stars & Olympians: Nelson Vails (L) and Ron Kiefel.

Garmin goes big on Rodeo Dr.

The Garmin Barracuda riders had mixed bikes (Cervelo Ca and S5 aero) along with a choice of sweet Mavic carbon wheels.

Proving how tasteful they are, SRAM chose the Salvatore Ferragamo store to hang out in front of.

It didn't happen for Levi in California this year, but hopefully he put his comeback fitness gained the last week to good use for a slightly bigger race in July. How about those new Specialized shoes?

With his five stage wins, post-finish one handed wheels and opinion on America ("I like this country"), it's safe to say that Peter Sagan rules! (Here's an inside tip, if you like Sagan as much as we do, pay attention to RBA's Facebook page in the coming days!)

The high-end Team Optum Orbea bikes looked right at home in front of the Rossini store.

To say that Amgen Tour of California winner Robert Gesink has a long extension on his Giant would be an understatement. Proving the always surprising nature of bike racing, the Tour race book said that the Rabobank team "will forgo overall ambitions in favor of stage wins." In the end, they got both.

Yes, it is impossible to walk past Jens Voigt (R) and not take a photo. Just before the start he was compared notes about spending a week in California with fellow German rider Robert Kluge.

Cyclists ride in from all over to watch the start...this guy rode in from the late 1990's.

Will everybody in America please take a moment to look at this photo of Race Director Jim Birrell and say "thank you". Jim is a true bike geek and has been putting on first-class bike races in America for decades. The country and the sport is made better for his efforts.
