Agritubel (Continental Pro) Registered Nation: France Bicycles: Kuota Components: SRAM, Reynolds Wheels Key Riders: Jimmy Casper, Christophe Moreau, Roman Feillu Title Sponsors: Agritubel is a manufacturer of metal fencing and enclosures for livestock and farming.
Agritubel current structure was formed in 2003 but it was't until 2006 that the team first rode the Tour de France, as the French squad mostly races in French Cup races and the UCI European tour. Agritubel is invited to ASO races like the Tour de France. In 2006 Agritubel justified their Tour entry when Juan Mercado won a Tour stage in Pau. In 2007 Agritubel lacked a leader and relied on inserting riders into early breaks to bring attention to the small French squad. In 2008 Agritubel beefed up with 2007 French champ Christophe Moreau and diminutive sprinter Jimmy Casper. With a wild card berth in the Tour de France. Expect to see Agritubel riders in early breaks trying to get as much television time as possible, but watch out for emerging sprinter Romain Felliu at the Tour De France this season, while Caspar has some chance in the sprints and Moreau may play a role on gc or in the mountains.
