Tinkoff-Saxo’s Peter Sagan enters the finishing chute at the Stage 6 Time Trial of the Amgen Tour of California.
Latvian Toms Skujins of the Hincapie Racing Team was the overall race leader heading into the Stage 6 time trial.
It would be Sagan, however, who would take the win on the day, coming across the line 15 seconds ahead of second place and grabbing the overall race lead.
Peter Sagan took first, while Lotto-NL Jumbo’s Jos van Emden took second, and Etixx-Quick-Step’s Julian Alaphilippe finished third.
As the Amgen Tour of California heads into the final two days of racing on Saturday and Sunday, here’s how the jerseys line up (left to right): Julian Alaphilippe (Best Young Rider); Mark Cavendish (points classification); Peter Sagan (overall lead); Toms Skujins (King of the Mountains); Danilo Wyss (Most Courageous Rider).
