The finish came down to a sprint between Tinkoff-Saxo’s Peter Sagan and BMC’s Greg van Avermaet.
Greg Van Avermaet held on for the win in the most exciting finish of this year’s Tour thus far.
Giant-Alpecin’s John Degenkolb took fourth place on the day.
