While there has been plenty of upheaval about Chris Froome’s power files being stolen or leaked, not every pro feels so protective with their numbers. Thanks to Training Peaks, Luke Durbridge (Team Orica GreenEDGE), Luke Rowe (Team Sky), and Svein Tuft (Team Orica GreenEDGE), we get a unique look at what it takes to ride in the Tour de France, stage by stage.

Stage 1, Luke Durbridge (Team Orica GreenEDGE)

  • Luke Durbridge averaged 445 watts for the 13.8km time trial to start the 2015 Tour de France
  • He averaged 103 rpm and 50.9 kph for over 15 minutes
  • Durbridge finished in 32nd place, 46 seconds down

Stage 2, Luke Rowe (Team Sky)

  • Rowe averaged 236 watts and 43.7 kph for the 166 km stage
  • His peak 20 minute power was 356 watts
  • Rowe burned 3237 calories during the stag

Stage 3, Luke Rowe (Team Sky)

  • Rowe averaged 229 watts for the 159 km stage
  • After nearly four hours of racing, Rowe produced 314 watts for over five minutes during the lead to and climb up the Mur de Huy where his teammate Froome finished in 2nd.
  • Rowe’s peak five minute power was 392 watts on a flat section after the ascent of the Cote de Bohissau.

Stage 4, Luke Rowe (Team Sky)

  • Rowe’s peak power values came after 170 km of racing, including his peak 20 minute power of 323 watts
  • In 223 km, Rowe burned 4217 calories in over five and half hours of racing

Stage 5, Svein Tuft (Team Orica GreenEDGE)

  • During Tuft’s peak one hour power, he averaged 260 watts and 87rpm
  • Tuft hit a peak speed of 83.3kph

Stage 6, Luke Durbridge (Team Orica GreenEDGE)

  • Durbridge’s Normalized Power® just under 300 watts for five hours
  • On the final climb Durbridge put out 331 watts for over 3 minute

Stage 7, Luke Rowe (Team Sky)

  • Rowe averaged 42.3kph and burned 3127 calories during the 190 km stage
  • Peak one hour power came at the end of the stage where Rowe averaged 254 watts
