Fabio Jakobsen out-sprinted Wout van Aert to win stage 2 of Paris Nice in Orleans. Echelons formed throughout the 98-mile stage due to crosswinds leading into Orleans. The sprinter’s teams kept the race together but Jumbo Visma was intent on upsetting the sprint favorites. In the final 400 meters Jumbo’s Christophe Laporte overtook the Quick Step Alpha Vinyl lead out to seemingly hand Wout Van Aert the win but Quick Step’s Fabio Jakobsen started his sprint first to beat out Van Aert to the finish line.
