2022 PARIS NICE STAGE 6 RESULTS

Upsetting the sprinters

A bold attack earned TotalEnergies rider, Mathieu Burgaudeau the win on stage 6 of Paris Nice, his first at the WorldTour level. Burgaudeau launched with under 6 miles to go, pushing to a 20 seconds gap aboard his Specialized Tarmac SL7. The 23-year-old Frenchman held off a charging peloton in the final meters as Mads Pedersen and Wout van Aert geared down on the solo attacker to finish less than a bike length behind on the line.

Primoz Roglic retains the overall lead, 39 seconds ahead of Simon Yates with an additional three riders less than a minute behind. Stage 7 features a summit top finish with 11,700 feet of climbing in 97 miles. It will be the proving ground for the overall competitors ahead of Sunday’s hilly jaunt around Nice.
