Roglic survives, Yates snags stage

Riding an indomitable eight stages of racing, Primoz Roglic held on to win Paris Nice 2022 with a third place finish on stage 8 behind Simon Yates and Wout van Aert. Yates launched a threatening attack with 12 miles to go on the final climb of the stage.  Van Aert commenced a chase to close the gap with Roglic in tow down the descent into Nice. At the line, Yates earned the stage win 9 seconds ahead of the Jumbo Visma duo.

Primoz Roglic secured the overall win with a 29 second lead overall Yates. Dani Martinez fell to third overall 2:39 behind, after a flat took him out of the lead group with 20 miles to go.
