ARKEA SAMSIC EXTENDS DEAL WITH NACER BOUHANNI
Arkea Samsic announced it had extended the contracts of six of its riders including French sprinter Nacer Bouhanni. The 30-year-old Bouhanni, a former national champion with a reputation for belligerence, won the points classification at the Giro D’Italia in 2014 and has also taken stages in the Spanish Vuelta but has never won on the Tour de France.
This year he finished second on stage four and also recorded two thirds before retiring on stage 15 after a crash. Two other members of Arkea’s Tour de France team, Clement Russo and Anthony Delaplace also signed new contracts as did Amaury Capiot, Matis Louvel and Pole Lukasz Owsian.
“Nacer has been the number one French sprinter on the roads of the Tour de France,” said Emmanuel Hubert, one of Arkea’s directors. “We will continue to write our sprint history with him.”
