The Belgian Waffle Ride returns April 15th for what look’s to be there biggest event to date as they enter their seventh year. Their Euro style American Classic race is a one of a kind event where rider’s can tackle two separate routes through the challenging San Diego county terrain.
The event will once again be hosted at the Lost Abbey Brewery on Sunday with a two day festival the Friday and Saturday prior to the event in Carlsbad at the Canyon headquarters. The exact routes haven’t been released yet but last year’s Wafer ride consisted of 68 miles with 6,500 feet of climbing and the Waffle route topped out at 146 miles with 13,000 feet of climbing. Both courses for this year look to offer similar conditions of dirt and paved sectors but possibly a bit shorter in length overall.
American legend John Tomac will be riding, as well as former professional Erik Zabel, Michael Potter, Alison Tetrick and Amanda Naumann.
We have teamed up with the BWR crew to give away a great bundle for the upcoming event which includes an entry to either the Wafer or Waffle ride, IRC tires, socks, water bottle, event shirt and Belgian Waffle Ride JL Velo kit.
