Eroica California Rescheduled

Plan on hitting the coast in September

Press Release

Nova Eroica and Classic Eroica California have announced their new 2020 dates. The early April event was postponed in early March and has now been rescheduled to September 25-27, 2020.

The Saturday, September 26, Nova Eroica ride is a modern day road cycling event that includes gravel sections and is designed to challenge the staunchest of cyclists. The Sunday, September 27, Classic Eroica is ridden on vintage pre-1987 bicycles. The expo and festival kick off on Friday, September 25. Registration is currently open to new riders for each day.

“Late September is a glorious time to ride on the Central Coast of California. While the hills may be more golden then green at that time, the chance of rain is near zero,” said Cambria-based Eroica Event Coordinator, Kaori Peters.  “We realize, as we’ve witnessed, that things can change quickly but we see light at the end of the tunnel and we’re looking forward to the freedom of riding with friends – with everyone.“

Cambria and Cayucos California will share hosting duties for the 2020 Nova and Classic Eroica event. On Saturday Nova cyclists riding either road or drop bar gravel bikes have the option of two courses: 72 or 97 miles. The 72-mile loop features 6000 feet of climbing, 56 miles of pavement and 16 miles of gravel. The 97-mile option features 7535 feet of elevation with 50 miles of pavement and approximately 30 miles of gravel. The Sunday Classic Eroica edition, ridden on vintage bikes, adds San Simeon as an event host and offers four ride options of 36, 72, 81 and 108-mile course options.

The price to participate in either Nova Eroica or Classic Eroica California is $150; $220 for both rides. Register here for Nova and Classic Eroica California. Questions may be addressed to [email protected].
