First Look: Cinelli King Zydeco

A new mix of road and gravel

Legacy Italian brand Cinelli has revamped their entire drop-bar line in an attempt to focus on the latest gravel and road tech. The King Zydeco takes its name from the raucous yet harmonic creole music of the same name from Louisiana. Cinelli has teased the concept gravel race rig for a couple years and we had a chance to get up close and personal with it at the CABDA West show in San Diego, California.

Cinelli took what they learned in creating the original alloy Zydeco, and put their resources into  the carbon-framed King. The performance oriented design features swooping, dropped chainstays and a carbon fork. Cinelli reccomends a maximum tire clearance of 700x42mm  or 650×2.1 inches of rubber.

The carbon fork features a flip chip design to adjust the wheelbase by nearly 10mm.

This King Zydeco was equppied with a 1x Shimano GRX drivetrain with hydraulic disc brakes. A 42 tooth chainring is paiured with an 11-36 cassette.

Cinelli claims a frame weight of 1000 grams.
Fittingly, some Louisiana hot sauce accompanied the King Zydeco.

Price: $2400
