First Look: Orica-Scott Team Bikes

By January 1st 2017, Scott stepped up as a title sponsor of Team Orica, now known as Orica-Scott. With the Tour Down Under starting January 14th, Orica-Scott riders will ride with the new RC team bike designs the very first time, the Scott Foil RC and Addict RC.

The team riders choose between the aerodynamic Foil RC and the ultralight Addict RC- both of which are among the lightest and stiffest road race bikes on the market. For Time Trails, the team rides the Plasma.

The Foil RC of Orica-Scott

The Foil RC is linked to Scott`s actual inline RC model. The pro rider`s bike is mainly spec’d with Syncros and Shimano parts. The RC design represents Scott`s Racing Concept, a 100% race-dedicated line which includes bikes, and head-to-toe gear. The idea behind Scott`s Racing Concept- or RC- is to provide 100% race-dedicated, no-compromise high end bikes and gear.

There is no doubt, the Foil RC is a pure race machine- fully equipped with all features that make this bike truly outstanding. The fully integrated Syncros aero cockpit offers the best aerodynamic results in all kinds of conditions. Both the nicely integrated Shimano Di2 groupset and the one-of-a-kind seatpost construction are some of the best integrations a road bike can offer.

With a frame weight of 945g and a fork weight of 335g (size Medium, including small parts) Scott`s racing spearhead is one of the lightest Aero Bikes on the market. It took no time for the first Foil to gain a reputation for being extremely stiff and responsive with regards to power transfer and handling. In favor of our Pro riders and the customer base that prefers a stiff and responsive bike, the current Foil exhibits even higher stiffness values than its predecessor.

Aside from the visible design enhancements with regards to aerodynamics and integration, the riding comfort of the new Foil has been elevated noticeably.

Syncros Components
Orica-Scott will be riding the latest Syncros components including the RR1.0 Aero bar/stem combo, the RR1.0 saddle, and the FL1.0SL seat post. The all-new, fully integrated RR1.0 cockpit from Syncros was developed in conjunction with the new Foil and adds to the aerodynamic excellence of this bike. Its superior aerodynamic properties stem from its aero-optimized shape which includes an F01 profile on the horizontal part of the bar along with state-of-the-art integration possibilities.

Full integration of brake cables, mechanical and electronic shifting cables and Shimano’s Di2 junction box ensure a smooth transition between the cockpit and the frame, a clean look and aerodynamic cable routing.

The Addict RC Di2, comes equipped with an HMX Carbon Fiber frame and fork that weighs in at just 790/300g, it is the preferable climbing bike for Team Orica-Scott. With the addition of a Shimano Dura Ace Di2 electronic drivetrain and a slew of other high-end Carbon components, the RC results in one strong and efficient racing featherweight machine.
