FIRST LOOK: SMITH JETSTREAM TT

Although the effort for true  TT aero helmets has seemed to diminish somewhat in recent years, there is still a need to shave watts and maximize aero efficiency – and that’s just what Smith Jetstream TT is hoping to do with the release of their new Jetstream TT aero helmet.

SMITH JETSTREAM TT

Press Release

Expanding its comprehensive collection of race, road, mountain and commuter bike helmets, Smith is excited to launch the new pinnacle Jetstream TT helmet designed to reduce drag to ensure every second counts during time trial races and triathlons.

The teardrop style helmet was extensively developed and wind-tunnel tested to provide less air drag from every direction to obtain faster, more efficient speeds. The elongated shape creates an aerodynamic system that interacts with the rider’s back more completely than rounded profile helmet designs to reduce turbulence at the trailing
aspects of the helmet.

CPSC and CE EN 1078 certified, the Jetstream TT is comprised of EPS foam and zonal Koroyd® coverage for lightweight, energy-absorbing, and ventilated impact protection. The addition of MIPS® Brain Protection System reduces rotational forces caused by angled impacts to the head during a crash. Five strategically placed vents help keep you cool without adding drag so you can put all your focus into securing your place on the podium.

An integrated magnetic visor provides eye protection with easy and efficient lens changes between the color-enhancing ChromaPop™ bright sun lens and secondary clear lens option for low light conditions.

Additional features include five strategically placed vents for optimal airflow, VaporFit™ dial adjustment system offering 270-degree fit adjustment with the turn of a dial, Ionic+® antimicrobial lining for sweat-activated odor control, and low-profile Y-strap divider for a secure fit while reducing wind noise and aerodynamic drag.

The new Jetstream TT (MSRP $375 USD / $490 CDN – Weight 14 oz/410g in Medium with MIPS includes two magnetic lenses plus a hard carrying case with spare lens holder is available now at select retailers across North America.
