First Look: Zipp 30 Course Wheelset

The growth of gravel and adventure road riding has not slowed down, not even a bit. While more cyclists are converting to this dirty iteration, there is still only a handful of equipment that is designed for the new sense of dual purpose riding. Zipp, long a leader in wheel innovation and quality, has now released a single versatile wheelset for a variety of  road disc-brake purposes.

Zipp Speed Weaponry developed the 30 Course as a “do everything” aluminum wheelset. Lightweight and durable for cyclocross, a wide profile for adventure riding with flexibility for a wide range of tire sizes. The 30 Course is Zipp’s first tubeless, that’s right we said tubeless, ready wheelset with a 21mm internal rim width which makes a perfect combination for contemporary cyclocross racers and adventure riding enthusiasts looking for traction and comfort with higher volumes and lower pressures.

The 30 Course wheels is equipped with Zipp’s new 77-177D hubs first featured only weeks ago on their new 202 and 303 firecrest disc-brake models. The hubs are compatible with quick-release up to a 15mm thru-axle pop-on end caps, that feature zero preload adjustment, for a quick ‘plug and play’ ease of use on any frame design. An XD driver body is also available after market.
