First Ride: Cannondale Synapse

One of our latest test bikes to come through the RBA offices is the Cannondale Synapse 105 Disc. This is an entry level Synapse with a full carbon frame equipped with Shimano 105 drivetrain and disc brakes. Listed price on the Cannondale site is at $2,499.99.

Fender mounts are available on the Synapse and hidden cleanly.
A Selle Royal Seta S1 saddle with an allow 25.4 seat post.
An in house Cannondale C3, 6061 Alloy stem at 31.8, 6 deg measurements.
Shimano 105 drivetrain with a an 11-32 rear cassette.
The carbon Synapse frame is UCI approved with this clean internal cable mount cover.
RD 2.0 28 hole rims with stainless steel spokes.
Schwalbe Lugano folding tires measured at 700x28c offer up a smooth ride.
No rear brake mount bridge to show off the clean rear seat stay geometry on the Synapse frame.
The seat post clamp is an internal wedge which is tucked away under the top tube and seat post.
Shimano RS505 hydraulic brakes have a fairly large hood to them but hydraulic brakes are always a plus.
The Synapse comes with a good length of cable housing where it doesn’t need to be trimmed down.
Flat mount 160mm Shimano rotors on front and rear.
The new Synapse geometry is more neutral then race fit or a laid back endurance geometry.
