One week after rising gravel star Moriah Wilson was gunned down in a home in Austin, Texas, the gravel world of cyclists remains stunned in disbelief over the facts of the murder, and that the suspected shooter, Kaitlin Armstrong, remains missing.

“It’s so incredibly painful for such a tight-knit community, and people you’ve raced with, celebrated with, like, so many miles with, to be faced with this horrific tragedy. My reaction is just pain and heartbreaking,” Alison Tetrick, Wilson’s teammate and friend, said. “It’s just, kind of stunned. Tragic. You just want to hug people you love at this point.”


In memory of “Mo” her family as set up a GoFundMe site to honor her legacy.

“On May 11th, 2022, Moriah “Mo” Wilson passed away in Austin, Texas, where she was preparing to compete in the Gravel Locos bike race. In her short time here, Moriah inspired many, lived fully, and loved fiercely. In her memory, we are raising money to help fund community organizations that help youth find self-confidence, strength, and joy through biking, skiing, and other activities that Moriah was passionate about.”
