SPUR CYCLE INTRODUCES TI TOOL

Spurcycle, creators of what is said to be the best bicycle bell that money can buy, are launching a new made in USA multi-tool.  Wrapped in a slim fabric case, the $69 minimalist tool makes a very satisfying addition to your everyday carry.

Machined from Grade 5 titanium at Paragon Machine Works in California, Spurcycle’s Tool consists of a compact body with sliding handle that allows for quick T-form or L-form leverage depending on adjustment. Chrome-coated S2 steel bits are quick to swap and allow easy replacement if damaged. Included sizes span 2mm hex, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, T10 Torx, T25, and Phillips #2.

The finely-stitched carry case is made in San Francisco. It stows in a jersey pocket with no sharp edges to dig into your back, making access quick and easy. Plus there is enough room to securely stash a $20 spot or a couple glueless patches.

Spurcycle’s Tool is the most recent collaboration of brothers Nick and Clint Slone, following the Spurcycle Bell, Key Clip, and Multi Pouch.  Their focus—in addition to meticulous design—is to create products that don’t require a slick sales pitch but which encourage blatant favoritism.

TEAM SKY UNVEIL NEW KIT

Team Sky has unveiled its new kit for next season and revealed the new, white jersey riders will be wearing in 2018.  The kit, produced with Team Sky’s Performance Clothing Partner Castelli, will give the team a new look for the new season. However, the kit also retains many of the features that have made Team Sky riders so recognizable in the peloton.”

The line on the back of the jersey, a feature of every Team Sky kit since the team began racing in 2010, remains integral to the design while the ‘data pattern’, which records every one of Team Sky’s victories, has been updated to include the team’s wins from 2017.

Victories from 2010-2016 are now in one place on the back of the jersey, with all the wins from the historic 2017 season represented by a pattern embedded within a blue band across the front of the new jersey. The reintroduction of the blue band is inspired by the design of the kits worn by Team Sky in their first years of racing.

“We initially changed to white jerseys for the Tour de France last summer, and it was the feedback from riders and the response from our fans that inspired us to go white for the 2018 season.” – Dave Brailsford

WHEEL REVIEW: LIGHTWEIGHT DISC

Lightweight wheels have always been the unicorn of the road wheels. With their parent company building aerospace satellites, precision medical equipment and even high-precision farming equipment, building bicycle wheels gives Lightweight the chance to publicly showcase what they’re capable of since most of their other projects are on the down-low. The combination of materials only accessible to the aerospace community and the vast knowledge that comes along with these other industries is a large part of what sets Lightweight apart from any other wheel company.

It is perfect for replacing muscle glycogen immediately after each training session and also works perfect for carbo-loading before an event. Protein, vitamins, and minerals are essentially building materials for your body where Carbo-Fuel is fuel for your body. Solid carbs must be eaten at least three hours prior to activity where Carbo-Fuel can be taken 30-40 minutes prior to activity for lasting energy without the drag of a heavy meal in your stomach.
