Toms Skujins did something during stage 3 of the Tour of California which was truly amazing. One year later to the day he captured victory after crashing out with a concussion and broken collarbone the year previous.

Toms has a great history with the California race where he really rose to promise in 2015 by winning a stage and moving into the yellow jersey while riding for Holowesko – Citadel. The following year he won the stage going into Lake Tahoe from another breakaway while on the Cannondale squad. Last year he crashed out while in the breakaway and this year he once again did it again.

Earlier in the season we caught up with Toms following his first victory of the season. During this interview Toms was currently over racing the Abu Dhabi Tour.

In this interview we talk with Toms Skujins who at the time was racing the Abu Dhabi Tour. We talk about him coming over to the states from Latvia to race in the U.S. for the Hincapie – Holowesko team then to moving over to race for Cannondale and now Trek-Segafredo.

We discus what a day in the life of a World Tour rider consists of and his views on the upcoming season for the new Trek – Segafredo rider.

We spotted this new Cannondale System Six which we have yet to see while we were walking the pits of this year’s Amgen Tour of California. The frame looks to be pretty aero with disc brakes and a front and rear thru-axle. The front fork looked to have some good clearance for larger tires but weren’t able to get an exact size on what can fit in there.

We expect Cannondale to be releasing more information on this new bike soon.

During the Tour of California we had the opportunity to walk through the pits the day prior to stage 1 to see what the mechanics were up to as each team looked very busy.

Mechanics may have one of the toughest jobs during the tour, other then racing the bike but what do they all actually do? We caught up with lead mechanic Doug Sumi of Holwesko – Citadel Pro Cycling to find out what’s in store for him this week.

Quite possibly the easiest way to grab yourself a new bike is by simply putting your name and email to automatically have a chance to win this beautiful new ride.

You can enter into the contest here.

Prior to the first stage of the Tour of California we had the chance to walk the pits and take a look at all the professional team bikes on display.
