Julian Alaphilippe was the captain for the race but Jungles was able to sneak off for the victory.
Bob Jungels (LUX – QuickStep – Floors) surprised everyone by jumping out 20 km to go and holding his gap to the line.
Christoph Pfingsten (GER – Bora – Hansgrohe) grits his teeth to make it over one of the final climbs.
Bauke Mollema (NED – Trek – Segafredo) leads in a reduced group as the peloton lays shattered across the race course .
The calm before the storm as the riders head out during their neutral roll out.
Alejandro Valverde (ESP – Movistar) was a heavily marked man and wasn’t able to capitalize on a race he’s done so well at in the past.
The weather for the day was ideal for a Belgian Spring Classic.
Rides start to look for openings to move up to get to the front of the race where the action will soon begin.
Daniel Martin (IRL – UAE Team Emirates) is protected by his teammates as they look to keep him up front and out of trouble.
Romain Bardet (FRA – AG2R – La Mondiale) showed his classiness as a professional bike racer by finishing on the podium of the Spring Classic.
Jelle Vanendert (BEL – Lotto Soudal) goes at it alone in the closing kilometers of the race but was soon caught.
Blue skies greeted the riders as they rolled out.
QuickStep – Floors was their for Julian Alaphilippe but it was his teammate that was able to capitalize on the victory.
Daniel Martin (IRL – UAE Team Emirates) sets off in the closing kilometers but unfortunately suffered from an untimely flat.
