Katusha’s Joaquim Rodriguez looked poised to take the stage win late in the race, but was eventually swallowed up by a charging Nibali and others, eventually rolling across the line in ninth place.

Points classification leader, Peter Sagan, delighted the crowd at the end of Stage 10 by popping one of his signature wheelies near the summit finish.

The toughest stage so far of this year’s Tour de France, Stage 10 saw top riders like Belkin’s Bauke Mollema (left) and World Road Race Champion, Rui Costa, roll across the finish line with tired, dejected faces.

Lotto-Belisol’s Tony Gallopin enjoyed a solitary day in the leader’s yellow jersey, and he did it proud with his spirited ride on Stage 10, but Gallopin ultimately fell victim to a rampaging Vincenzo Nibali.
