Preview: The 2014 North American Handmade Bike Show

In the ten years since Don Walker woke up the handmade bike world with the introduction his North American Handmade Bicycle Show, the notion of craftsmanship has thankfully returned to any potential discussion on contemporary bicycle design. Not only has the topic of handmade bikes leaped forward, but best of all, the NAHBS has grown from it’s original size of 23 exhibitors and 700 attendees, to 165 exhibitors and 7200 attendees.

One month from today, the 2014 running of NAHBS will find a weekend home in Charlotte, NC. where no doubt the attendees will once again be wowed by the vision and artistry on display. This is the place where you will find a wide variety of bikes; from the beautiful steel and titanium creations from the likes of Independent fabrications (above), to the wood bikes of Calfee and carbon bikes of Matt Appleman. Simply put, there is no other show in the world that offers true bicycle enthusiasts the experience had from walking the NAHBS aisles. We guarantee – you will lose your breath!

In case you need some addition proof, czech out this post from last years show: 2013 Handmade.

Road Bike Action will once again be there in full force to bring you all the best-in-show bikes. Until then, here’s just a preview of some of what’s to come.
