PROFESSIONAL CYCLIST COLLAPSES, RECEIVES CPR AT FINISH
Italian cyclist Sonny Colbrelli has reportedly collapsed after the finish of the first stage of the Tour of Catalunya on Monday. The Team Bahrain Victorious rider Colbrelli finished second on the day behind Australian Michael Matthews after an intense up-hill sprint finish. The reigning European road race champion was given medical assistance, including CPR, at the finish line, according to reports on Spanish television. The 31-year-old pulled out of the Tirreno-Adriatico stage race two weeks ago due to a bout of bronchitis. Colbrelli won the prestigious Paris-Roubaix race last year. Colbrelli’s team reported he is conscious on the way to a hospital for further examination.
