ABBEY BIKE TOOLS BBQ PEDAL WRENCH
I’m a huge fan of Abbey Bike Tools and the incredible products they make—they’re highly functional and extremely durable. The next Abbey tool I hope to acquire is the BBQ Pedal Wrench, which is a chromed tool steel wrench surrounded between an American white oak handle, and it features a 15mm box end on one side of the wrench with 6mm and 8mm hex wrenches on the other end rotating on a swivel bracket. It retails for $130 and can be found on the Abbey Bike Tools website.
CASTELLI HOLIDAY SWEATER JERSEYS
Competitive Cyclist, one of the most popular online cycling retailers, partnered with Castelli clothing to create two of the most festive cycling jerseys you’ll ever see. Available in Christmas Green and Hanukkah Blue versions, Castelli’s holiday-themed long-sleeve thermal jerseys feature an “ugly sweater” print pattern, a form-fitting cut, full-length front zipper, and three standard rear pockets plus an additional small zippered pocket. The jerseys retail for $129.95 each. Click here to order Castelli’s holiday-themed long-sleeve jerseys!
THE ATHLETIC SOCKS
One of the best parts of being a cyclist is the freedom to let your personality shine through in the kit that you wear. And few pieces of apparel allow for as much of a personal touch as socks. The Athletic Community makes some of the most stylish socks on the market, with plenty of unique and modern designs in bright colors, many of which are inspired by airport carpet patterns. Seriously. Awesome. One particular pair I have my eye on is the SEATAC Airport Carpet model (above). Prices range from around $15 up to $25. GIRO SYNTHE HELMET
I’ve been riding with Giro’s aero-road Synthe helmet for several months, and it’s become one of my go-to helmets for any riding condition. Giro developed the Synthe to be more aerodynamic than their lightweight Aeon model, but also to be better ventilated than their aero Air Attack lid. The Synthe offers a terrific fit, easy-to-operate retention system, and it comes in a wide array of color schemes. Also, Giro just recently released a version of the Synthe with the MIPS liner system for added protection against rotational forces in the event of a crash. The MIPS-equipped version retails for $270, while the standard Synthe sells for $250. Click here for more info on the Giro Synthe helmet.
SPECIALIZED INNER TUBES
Cyclists are always in need of inner tubes, so they make a great, inexpensive gift for that special bike rider in your life. There’s no shortage of inner tubes on the market from a wide variety of brands, one of them being Specialized. What makes Specialized’s tubes a great choice for those shopping for their bike-riding freidns and loved ones is the fact that they come in several different sizes. And this inludes a model rated for tire sizes 20-28mm wide, which should accommodate pretty much any cyclist on your list. Prices for Specialized tubes start at $10 and they can be ordered via Specialized’s website.
