Seven riders are increasing their gap on the peloton.


Breakaway Update: at 129.5 Kilometers to go

Elie Gesbert (Fortuneo-Samsic), Julien Vermote (Dimension Data), Jasper De Buyst (Lotto-Soudal), Lilian Calmejane and Sylvain Chavanel (Direct Energie), Tom Skujins (Trek-Segafredo) and Nicolas Edet (Cofidis) lead the race.  After 75km of racing, the seven leaders are 3’50” ahead of the peloton led by Simon Gerrans for BMC.

Sylvain Chavanel has attacked to catch the KOM point at the top of the côte de Kaliforn.

Chavanel Solo Break: at 98.5 Kilometers to go

Sylvain Chavanel keeps going by himself after he won the KOM prize at Kaliforn. The second categorized climb côte de Trimen is around the corner.


Second KOM: 91.5 Kilometers to go

Sylvain Chavanel is first first at the côte de Trimen. With 2 KOM points, he virtually leads the climbers’ classification.

Crash: 88.5 Kilometers to go

Breakaway rider Elie Gesbert lost the control of his bike and crashed on the road side. 5 riders remain in the chase group 0:40 behind Chavanel.

Froome Mechanical: 64.4 Kilometers to go

Chris Froome gets a bike change after Michal Kwiatkowski firstly tried to fix the bike of the leader of Team Sky.

Breakaway Update: 60 Kilometers to go

Chavanel was joined by three riders. Chavanel, Calmejane, Skujins and Edet are 2’30” ahead of the peloton.

Crash: 56.4 Kilometers to go

Fourth KOM: 45 Kilometers to go

Sylvain Chavanel gets dropped on the hill. Calmejane Edet and Skujins ride off. Skujins passes the Ménez Quélerc’h solo and takes two KOM points. Calmejane grabs one point. At the top of Ménez Quélerc’h, with 45 kilometers to go, the peloton is 2’20” adrift.

Breakaway Update: 30 Kilometers to go

Edet, Calmejane and Skujins are 2′ ahead of the peloton mostly led by Peter Sagan’s teammates.

25 Kilometers to go

The time gap between the three leaders and the peloton is down to 1:20

Fifth KOM: 24.5 Kilometers to go

Tom Skujins beats Lilian Calmejane at the top and scores two points to take the lead in the KOM competition. He becomes the first Latvian to wear the polka dot jersey.

Breakaway Update: 15 Kilometers to go

Nicolas Edet is no longer at the front. Skujins and Calmejane have a 27 second lead over the peloton.

Bonus Sprint: 11 Kilometers to go

The peloton catches Calmejane and Skujins before the bonus sprint. Alaphilippe takes 3 seconds, Van Avermaet 2 and Calmejane 1.

New Breakaway: 10 Kilometers to go

Rein Taaramae takes a 20 second gap on the peloton.

Break Caught: 5.5 Kilometers to go

Sky is organized at the front of the peloton.


Van Avermaet leads out the sprint, Sagan wins.
