STAGE 10 RESULTS – LA VUELTA A ESPANA 2021 – MAKE IT TWO FOR STORER
Michael Storer won stage 10 of the 2021 Vuelta a Espana to earn his second victory if the race. The 117 on Spain’s Southern course was defined as Michael Storer expertly paced himself up and over the final peak 9 miles from the finish and descended with a full chase behind him holding a 22 second lead to the finish line in Rincon de la Victoria.
Intermarche Wanty Gobert’s Odd Christian Eiking moved into the overall lead with a fifth place finish on the day 11:27 ahead of Primoz Roglic. He now leads Guillame Martin by 58 seconds and Primoz Roglic by 2:17
On the same climb about 12 minutes behind the lead group, Primoz Roglic separated himself from his closest GC rival Enric Mas. While descending the red jersey hit the deck, lost his chain and bloodied his elbow but was able to catch on to the Mas group. The group worked together as Roglic finished 37th on the day, third overall with Mas fourth overall.
