Not just a Classic, but a Monument of cycling

At times it’s hard to imagine that there modern bike races that we watch today, which have been in existence for over 100 years. The Tour of Flanders is one of them. First run in 1913 the race (aka Ronde van Vlaanderen) is not  just considered one of the sport’s most highly regarded Classics, but it’s actually attained the status of  a “monument”, and one  that is as tough on equipment as it is on the riders.

In anticipation of this year’s running on April 4, here’s a video that offers some highlights of what to expect.
