Tour de France 2019 Stage 6 Preview

Saturday, July 11 - Stage 6

Stage 6 – 160.5 km (100 miles) – Mountain

The favorites of the Tour never miss out on La Planche des Belles Filles “rendez-vous”. They will this time face an even tougher finish (1 extra kilometer… including two additional steep climbs), and all that after taking on several other climbs including the Markstein, the Ballon d’Alsace and the Col des Chevrères. A rather heavy menu for an even heavier deadline.

– C. Prudhomme

Categorized Climb

The 3 kilometer ascent of the Col des Chevreres averages 18 percent for than half of it.

Intermediate Sprint

Without nearly more than a kilometer of flat roads in the stage, the intermediate sprint takes place early on at kilometer 29.

Final 5 Kilometers

For this edition of the Tour, racers will race a new unpaved section of La Planche Des Belles Filles for the final kilometer of the stage.
