Tour de France 2019 Stage 14 Preview

Saturday, July 20 - Stage 14

Stage 14 – 117.5 km (73 miles) – Mountain

The 2 000m mark will force the riders to enter into a new dimension. They will reach it just before making it to the Col du Tourmalet, by the time the battle between the best climbers should be at its most entertaining. On a rather intense format, the stage will, before that, feature two other climbs: the Col du Soulor.

– C. Prudhomme

Intermediate Sprint

Stage 14’s intermediate sprint will likely be swept by the breakaway.

Final 5 Kilometers

The Tourmalet has been the stage of many famous GC battles, this year the Tour returns to the same roads that saw Andy Schleck and Alberto Contador relentlessly attack each other for the yellow jersey.
