Saturday, July 13 - Stage 8

Stage 8 – 200 km (124 miles) – Hilly

The road to Saint-Étienne will have a sweet perfume of Beaujolais wine on its first part but t’ose not keen to climb will then suffer a real way of the cross. Having to face the Croix de Montmain, the Croix de Thel, the Croix Paquet, the Croix de Part and the côte d’Aveize. They will witness all types of climbs. On the menu: 3 800 meters of ascending elevation!

Categorized Climb

THe most notable hill of the day comes in the for of the Cote de la Jaillere which averages 7.6 percent for nearly 2 kilometers.

Intermediate Sprint 

Only 33 kilometers into stage 8, the intermediate sprint should be hotly contested by the fresh legs of the sprinters, before a breakaway can stick for the day.

Final 5 Kilometers

After the nearly 200 kilometers of rollers the best all-around riders will have a chance to shine against a likely depleted peloton.
