Passing through Schengen and before returning to French territory, the peloton will have confirmation it can go around freely… Without major difficulties, this stage should offer a second opportunity to the sprinters. Beware however, the roads of Meurthe-et-Moselle could be swept by the wind and that could represent a menace for the title contenders.

The small town in the canton of Remich owes its worldwide celebrity to the treaty signed on June 14, 1985, which put an end to the border control in Europe. The signature of the treaty took place on a boat anchored on the Moselle, the Princess Marie-Astrid. The deal created the Schengen space in which freedom of movement is guaranteed for all EU citizens. Twenty years after the treaty, a museum was created to celebrate the accord and its consequences.
