Up Close: Kyle Murphy’s TT Winning Cannondale

Press Release

Cylance Pro Cycling’s Kyle Murphy took 4th place in Stage 1 of the Joe Martin Stage Race. It was a uphill test that the team took full advantage of with its Cannondale SuperSix Hi-Mod Disc bicycles. With a hill climb time trial victory already in 2017 during the San Dimas Stage Race, Kyle Murphy has made the most of his first year riding a Cannondale. Kyle shared his experience after his initial ride on the SuperSix Evo Hi-Mod Disc earlier this year.

The Cylance Pro Cycling men’s team have dedicated themselves to Cannondale’s most technologically advanced frame for 2017 and will be exclusively running disc brake equipped SuperSix Evos for the entire year. While known for its improved stopping power, the Cannondale SuperSix Evo Disc retains its lightness and ability to accelerate on all terrains.
“In all of my experience in bike racing, it is awesome to see Cannondale keep improving the sport with equipment like our new bikes.” says Hilton Clarke, Director Sportif.  “We had some fun getting Kyle’s bike to the UCI weight limit and were able to use all our sponsor’s increased technology to play a role.”
Kyle’s frame is equipped with Vision Metron Disc carbon tubular wheels, SRAM Red HRD components, and FSA carbon bars, stem and seatpost. Kyle uses the extra-light Fabric ALM carbon saddle, which brings his size 56 frame ever closer to the UCI minimum weight limit.  Speedplay provided Kyle with a set of Speedplay Nanogram pedals, which are a mere 130g per pair. The bicycle is completed by a pair of Vittoria Corsa 25mm tubular tires, and ready to race fast wherever the road goes.

“The bike feels great,” Kyle enthusiastically adds. “We are lucky to be on these bikes,” continued Kyle, “it is humbling to know that the only variable in these races I need to worry about is my own fitness. I feel fast, confident, and comfortable when I am pushing this bike to the limit on the climbs.”

Cylance Pro Cycling is proud to work with such advanced sponsors that enjoy pure innovation and pushing the limits of the industry. Follow the team #bringthegreen all year long as the bicycles are the vehicles used to inspire and to achieve.
