Seven more riders have tested positive in the Vuelta Colombia following news of current U23 champion Róbinson López (Loteria de Boyaca) who also tested positive during the Vuelta Colombia. Seven riders in total tested positive for CERA (Continuous Erythropoietin Receptor Activator) which is a third generation blood booster variant of EPO.
The riders who tested positive for CERA were; Luis Alberto Largo Quintero (Sogamoso-argos-cooservicios-idrs), Edward Fabian Diaz Cardenas (EPM), Jonathan Felipe Paredes Hernandez and Fabio Nelson Montenegro Forero (Ebsa – Indeportes Boyaca), Luis Camargo Flechas (Supergiros), and Oscar Soliz Vilca (Movistar Amateur Team). The eighth rider; Juan Carlos Cadena Sastoque (Depormundo-m Bosa-ramguiflex), tested positive for steroid metabolites 19-noretiocholanolone.
Unfortunately the Vuelta Colombia has been a hot bed in the past for many positive tests occurring during the grueling stage race.
