A HARD CRASH FOR VIVIANI
On Wednesday, the Ineos Grenadiers’s Dylan Van Baarle gambled on a 50km solo break to win Dwars door Vlaanderen rampaging over more than a dozen hills and tricky cobbled roads. Just before the attack Italian Sprinter and race favorite Elia Viviani lost control of his bike while cornering on the cobbles and wound up on the dirt with 60km to go.
Viviani pulled out of the race following the incident but reported he was uninjured in a tweet saying “Bad crash today… fortunately nothing broken but we have to see day by day how the body will recover.”
