What would you expect when you hear that the heirs of the Walmart fortune are breaking into the carbon bike market? Don’t think too fast. Viathon is backed by the big box retailer but has teamed up with industry veterans that’d designed frames for brands like Cervelo and Pivot. The G.1 is the direct-to-consumer brand’s competitively priced gravel bike. A long wheelbase and dropped chainstay design supports wide rubber and rough riding conditions. The G.1 shouldn’t be dismissed just for its name.
