Race Across America (RAAM) is widely considered the hardest cycling event in the world, and with the race covering 3,000 miles from San Diego, California to Annapolis, Maryland, it’s hard to argue that. How quickly an individual or team completes RAAM is entirely up to them. Unlike the Tour de France where the route is broken into separate stages, RAAM is one single stage, so sleep deprivation and an onslaught of daily miles is the only way to be competitive. We’ve put together a collection of interviews with RAAM athletes that help put the realities of the event into perspective.
