FIRST LOOK: CANYON UNVEILS 2022 GRAIL GRAVEL BIKES

Canyon Bike’s gravel family continues to grow for 2022 with four new carbon models, each that features a snazzy paint job to compliment the range of solid components. And yes, they all still run with Canyon’s own Double Decker handlebar, which as we  related in our test of the Grail last year,  bordered on the silly. Read our Grail test here.

Press Release

Since its launch back in 2018, the Canyon Grail has blurred the boundaries between off-road efficiency and on- road speed. As gravel riding has evolved, the Grail has evolved with it: getting more capable as better, more refined gravel-specific parts hit the market. For 2022, the Grail CF SL and SLX are back in a range of price points and trim levels. All carbon Grails come equipped with Canyon’s unique Double Decker carbon cockpit. Alloy Grail models continue to feature traditional drop-bar cockpits.

The $3,199 Grail CF SL 8 features Shimano’s Ultegra-grade, gravel-specific GRX 810 mechanical
drivetrain and a DT Swiss G 1800 alloy wheelset.

The $4,999 Grail CF SL 8 Di2 is essentially the electronic equivalent of the previously-mentioned model—in this case, sporting Shimano’s GRX 815 Di2 electronic gravel drivetrain—as well as a DT Swiss GRC 1600 carbon wheelset.

Moving up to the SLX platform (which sheds nearly 200 grams of frame weight), we’ll be offering two models in 2022. The $5,999 Grail CF SLX 8 Di2 sports Shimano’s GRX 815 Di2 drivetrain and DT Swiss’ GRC 1400 carbon wheelset (top). Topping off our 2022 line, the $7,999 Grail CF SLX 9 eTap boasts SRAM’s Red XPLR eTap AXS wireless drivetrain, Red power meter, and an even swankier DT Swiss GRC 1100 carbon wheelset (above).
