With an unlikely winning sprint to the line on stage four of the Tour de France, Mark Cavendish earned his first Tour win in 5 years, the 31st of his career. Cavendish accelerated past Jasper Philipsen and Cees Bol in the final meters of the 93 mile stage. The 36-year-old broke out in emotions thanking his teammates following the win, its the second stage win for his Deceuninck-Quick Step squad this year at the Tour. Cavendish took the lead in the sprinter’s green jersey competition with the victory.
