The Historic Rose Bowl Ride
It was only the warm-up but we couldn't wait for the official start next week.
With the time change also comes one of our favorite local rides that has been a SoCal staple for more than 40 years. Tuesday was the first soft start (warm-up) rollout for those that just can’t wait for the time change. We were part of the select group that didn’t let the rain stop us. The ride started an hour early (5 pm) and only did five laps but it was a great way to kick off the season.
The ride normally starts at 5:55 pm every Tuesday, Thursday and does ten laps of the 3.1-mile loop during standard time. If you are ever visiting the LA area between March and October (standard time) we would love to see you out there. For more info, you can always visit the Rose Bowl Ride Facebook page for updates.
Here are a few images from Tuesdays ride where Zap was riding our SRAM eTap AXS test bike and David rode the Merlin Extralite Titanium bike. Zap also shot one of his famous Facebook live videos (below), and we expect there will be a lot more of those to come this season so follow our Facebook page for the live notifications. Ride safe and ride often.
And so it begins, well, not officially but one week out from the time change a dozen or so collected at the Rose Bowl Ride to start practicing their right turns. Troy Templin David Kennedy
