Press Release
Met Helmets is proud to be a part of qhubeka.org’s endeavor to provide economic opportunities to South Africans through the gift of quality, sustainable bicycle transportation in partnership with the World Bicycle Relief organization. Qhubeka is dedicated to the development of clean transportation for students, workers and more, expanding their ability to contribute to their own betterment, and the future of Africa.
We at Met stand by and celebrate this fantastic organization with specially designed helmets for Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka, Africa’s first UCI World Tour Team, and a powerful force for mobilizing change in South Africa one bicycle at a time.
MET Rivale and MET Manta were designed for the supremely talented Team Dimension Data to wear in competition at the 2016 Tour de France, as they take on the Qhubeka 5000 Challenge.
During stages 13 and 14 of the race, the team will invite fans the world over to join them in raising funds for school children, workers and more in Africa by registering to ride their own route wherever they are. Profits from registration go directly toward providing bicycles for those who work and earn them through the programs supported by Qhubeka, and one lucky registrant has the opportunity of being randomly chosen to join Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka’s team training camp in Cape Town, South Africa this November.
Met Helmets is thrilled to support the endeavors of Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka with those custom helmet designs, and encourages all to participate in the Qhubeka 5000 Challenge.
