Tour de France 2019 Stage 4 Preview

Monday, July 9 - Stage 4

Stage 4 – 213.5 km (133 miles) – Flat

Nothing could really prevent a royal bunched sprint on the 1.5-km final straight in Nancy. At the beginning of the Tour, the hierarchy concerning the sprinters isn’t yet established. Ready to challenge the winner of the first stage, his rivals will consider that the counter is reset to zero: their teams will be focused on keeping control of any breakaway attempt.

– C. Prudhomme

Intermediate Sprint

Halfway through the first week of racing the sprint competition will still be hotly contested because of the limited amount of traditional flat sprint finishes thus far.

Final 5 Kilometers

A flat finish for the sprinters.
