A magnesium road offering

The VAAST R/1 is an aero-inspired Allite Super Magnesium framed road bike. Light, fast, strong, resilient, and more sustainably made than other bikes in the category. The R/1 is the perfect utilitarian road bike with an appetite for speed and is especially well suited for the eco-minded cyclist.

Check out the VAAST A/1 REVIEW

VAAST’s Allite Super Magnesium technology means the frame is outstandingly light, matching the weight of its carbon competitors, while the unique use of this cutting-edge material provides a lively and agile riding experience. Weighing just under 1250g, the frame offers durability and protection for long days in the saddle. Its geometry suits competitive but comfortable endurance riding, with two fork offsets across its sizing.

VAAST is the only bike manufacturer in the world to construct frames using Allite Super Magnesium™, a material that doesn’t compromise on stiffness or responsive geometry. The R/1 frame is coated with Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation, which eliminates the risk of corrosion and creates a durable and high-performance finish, while the carbon fork and seatpost optimize the frame’s overall strength.

Beyond performance, the R/1 includes a number of features. The 30-32mm of tire clearance can facilitate a more diverse and rounded riding experience while fender mounting points have also been incorporated to help ensure a cleaner, drier and more comfortable ride.

PRICE

The R/1 will be offered in three specifications; Shimano 105 comes equipped on the entry-level model for $2200, with Shimano Ultegra included on the middle spec for $3200 and SRAM’s Force AXS eTap enabling precise wireless shifting at the premium end of the range for $5000.
